The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will host a conference on responsible mining in June, 2025. It will be organised in partnership with the World Bank and other international agencies. The Asantehene announced this when the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace. Focus Otumfuo, who has been a strong advocate of responsible mining , protection of rivers and conservation of the environment, said the conference will focus on advocating for responsible mining in Ghana. Rumours in Goaso, the Ahafo Regional capital, are that the body of the late Omanhene, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah, has been buried secretly. This has fueled some apprehension and sent tongues wagging.
