EC to hold balloting for 2024 election

The Electoral Commission (EC) will hold a ballot for the 13 approved presidential candidates today, Friday, September 20, 2024, ahead of the December elections.

The balloting is scheduled for 4 PM at the EC’s main office.

The commission congratulated all candidates for completing the nomination process.

“We are happy to announce that your candidate has successfully passed the nomination and is eligible to run in the 2024 Presidential Election.

Congratulations!” the statement said. Out of 24 candidates who applied, only 13 were approved to take part in the balloting.

The candidates affiliated with political parties include:
– Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (NPP)
– John Dramani Mahama (NDC)
– Kofi Akpaloo (LPG)
– Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews (GUM)
– Hassan Abdulai Ayariga (APC)
– Mohammed Frimpong (NDP)
– Akua Donkor (GFP)
– Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong-Kumankumah (CPP)
– Daniel Augustus Lartey (GCPP)

The independent candidates include:
– Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen
– Nana Kwame Bediako
– George Twum Barimah-Adu
– Kofi Koranteng
