Presidential running mate of the NPP, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, a.k.a. Napo, has hit back at NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama over his recent comment that “If Nkrumah had a ghost, he would have slapped NAPO”. The former President and twice defeated presidential candidate of the NDC passed the comment when he campaigned at Peki in the Volta Region on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Mills’ ghost
But in a direct reaction, Napo who was campaigning at Adugyama in the Ahafo Ano South East constituency in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, said, “If Professor Mills had a ghost, John Mahama would be in jail by now.” A charged crowd at the event responses with wild applause.

Bold solutions
The NPP running mate is currently touring the Ashanti Region with the NPP’s message of “Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future”. He has been reminding various gatherings of the abysmal performance of the John Mahama administration. “We had a President John Mahama under whose watch Ghanaians slept in darkness for 4 years but thinks Ghanaians have forgotten about this record,” Napo fired.

Protecting gains
Dr Opoku Prempeh further told the gathering that, the gains chalked by the NPP government including the Free Senior High School would best be protected by a Bawumia-led NPP government. Dr Opoku Prempeh is expected to take his campaign tour to all the 47 constituencies of the Ashanti Region as the party seeks to energise its stronghold for massive turnout on election day.
