Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has taken his campaign to the Western North Region to rally support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Yesterday, the NPP vice presidential candidate was in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai and the Sefwi Wiawso constituencies where he urged cocoa farmers to have faith in Dr Bawumia.

Accompanied by Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, the vice presidential candidate popularly named NAPO, explained why the people of the region need to vote massively for the NPP.

Chirano
Starting off from the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai constituency, Dr Opoku Prempeh engaged with the chiefs and people in Chirano and its environs where he encouraged them to keep their faith in the NPP.

He urged them to disregard the NDC’s fabrications and instead, focus on the party’s impressive track record of development, both locally and nationally.

Sefwi Wiawso
Speaking to NPP supporters in Sefwi Wiawso, Dr Prempeh said the NPP government created the Western North Region to facilitate the development of the area. “As we work to ensure the development of the region, we also urge you to repose confidence in the NPP by voting for the party to drive the development we are all looking for,” he told the cheering crowd.

Cocoa
Dr Prempeh said the NPP government has been faithful to cocoa farmers. “Sefwi is a cocoa growing area. When NDC were leaving office in January 2017, a bag of cocoa could buy 13 bags of cement. Now, a bag of cocoa buys 34 bags of cement,” said.

He proceeded to ask the gathering, “So between NDC and NPP which is the best party?” The people responded, “NPP”.

The NPP vice presidential candidate reminded the people that for the eight years that NDC spent in office, five of the years were characterized by ‘dumsor’ but in every year, they increased electricity tariff by 50%.
