In an incredible demonstration of support, and a sign of victory in the elections, spare parts dealers at Abossey Okai in Accra, on Tuesday, November 7, handed over the steering wheel to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to signal his victory in the elections.

On a visit to the vast business enclave, thousands of the spare parts dealers gave the NPP presidential candidate a rousing welcome, signaling the unalloyed support for the NPP. Dr Bawumia held the symbolic steer as he walked the roads and corners of the area followed by elated NPP supporters.

New tax system
Addressing the people, Dr Bawumia told them that his government will introduce a new import regime, that is the flat rate regime.

“To start the new tax system on a clean slate, my government will provide a tax amnesty, that is, a complete exemption from the payment of taxes due and the waiving of associated interest and penalties up to a certain year to individuals and businesses for failures to file taxes in previous years so that everyone will start afresh.

“Our ultimate goal is move Ghana to a lower tax regime with broader coverage,” he said.

Dr Bawumia therefore urged the people to vote massively for him in order to enjoy the benefits of the proposed tax regime.

Hebron Prayer Camp
Dr Bawumia also visited the Hebron Prayer Camp at Medie near Nsawam, where the pastors and congregation offered special prayers for his success in the elections.

Thanking the NPP presidential candidate for the visit, Pastor Frank Donkor aid since they started their ongoing fasting and prayer session, no political leader has been to the centre . “It is only Dr Bawumia who has been here and he has asked for our support and prayers so we are going to pray for him,” he said.

With God
Addressing the congregation, Dr Bawumia expressed gratitude to them and stressed “with God, all things are possible”.
