The Banda Traditional Council has shown strong support for Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, along with the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Banda Constituency, Joe Dankwa.

During Dr. Bawumia’s campaign visit to Banda on Sunday, Nana Sekyemme Sinapem II, the Chief of Kabrono, who spoke for the Banda Traditional Council and promised their support for both leaders.

He highlighted various development projects that the NPP, during the tenures of John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo, had brought to the Banda area.

Nana Sinapem II pointed out that many key development initiatives in the constituency were started by the NPP. “We are here today to fully support you so our community can see more progress,” the chief stated, commending NPP Parliamentary Candidate Joe Dankwa.

He recalled important projects from President Kufuor’s time, such as the long-awaited Bui Power Project, which was initially proposed by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah but faced delays for years.

He explained how previous administrations could not complete the Bui Dam project until the NPP under President Kufuor made it happen. “We tried with different governments, but it only came to fruition when President Kufuor took action,” he remarked.

The Chief also mentioned other notable successes of the NPP during Kufuor’s presidency, including the electrification of the constituency and the construction of its first paved road.

Nana Sinapem II also recognized the advancements made under President Akufo-Addo, such as adding solar power to the Bui Dam, building roads, a durbar ground, and an astroturf for the community.

In reply, Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to the Traditional Council for their support and promised to work hard to implement the policies he discussed. He assured them of his dedication to accountability and service, stating that, “with God’s help,” he would return.
