KGL Group has come to the rescue of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) by addressing a decade-long issue of not being able to produce membership cards for its members. The GJA announced that KGL Group has agreed to sponsor the production of these ID cards.

An agreement was reached among the GJA, KGL Group, and Margins Group, a Ghanaian company that specializes in secure identity solutions, card manufacturing, and digitalization services.

A statement issued by the GJA on June 23, highlighted that Margins Group is prepared to begin printing the ID cards for members this week.

Process

GJA members are requested to send a soft copy (jpg) of their passport-sized photo, taken against a white background, to the following email address: gja.passportphoto@gmail.com. This photo will be used for the ID card.

The statement emphasized that the passport-sized picture must be of good quality (selfies are not acceptable) and should be accompanied by detailed information, including the member’s name, organization, region, and contact details.

The printing, issuing, and delivering of the membership ID cards will be done in the order that photographs are received. The process will initially start with members in good standing as published in the national dailies before addressing other members.

Stalled Issuance

The issuance of membership ID cards has been stalled for over ten years due to technical and financial challenges. However, since assuming office three years ago, the current administration, led by Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, pledged to resolve these issues and deliver ID cards to members.

“I am very excited to see this day finally arrive, and I believe our members will also be thrilled about this development after being so concerned about their ID cards,” Dwumfour stated. “We thank Margins Group and KGL Group for helping us fulfill this promise.”
