“In times like these, we stand shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand. Let’s do this on Wednesday!”
These were the words of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, the presidential running mate of the NPP for the 2024 elections when he took to Facebook on Tuesday, April 1, to announce that he would be visiting Adum in Kumasi today to offer his support to traders who lost their goods in a recent fire disaster.

Background
On March 20, 2025, a section of the Adum Railways Market in Kumasi, known as Blue Light, was engulfed by a devastating fire, resulting in the destruction of goods worth several millions of cedis. The cause of this fire disaster is still unknown.
