Rumours in Goaso, the Ahafo Regional capital, are that the body of the late Omanhene, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah, has been buried secretly. This has fueled some apprehension and sent tongues wagging.

Nana Bosomprah died in December 2024 at the age of 58.

As plans are underway to mark the traditional “one week” funeral observation at Goaso at the end of this month, news has spread in the town that the family had been forced to go for the body from the morgue to bury it because it was decomposing.

This story can however, not be independently confirmed because family sources are not ready to speak to the matter.

Removal
According to the stories, the remains of the Omanhene were first deposited at the Sunyani Hospital morgue. Some weeks later, it was realised that decomposition had set in.

Family members removed the body to a private morgue in Kumasi but the situation persisted. This allegedly compelled the family to go for the body for a secret burial in the night at Goaso. It is alleged that he was buried in the family home.

Superstition
Lots of stories surrounding the death of the Omanhene have been thrown around town, which are difficult to authenticate. Meanwhile, preparations are still ongoing for the one week observation.
