A well-known Islamic cleric and scholar, Sheikh Ishaq Nuamah, praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for his ability to unite people.
Speaking to a group of young members from the Ghana Muslim Students Association (GMSA) across different campuses, Sheikh Nuamah highlighted that Dr. Bawumia, despite being a Muslim, has garnered strong support from non-Muslims due to his character.
“Bawumia is a unifier,” he stated firmly.
He pointed out that in the campaign events across the regions, the number of Muslims present is small compared to the large crowds that support him.
Sheikh Nuamah encouraged the students and the Zongo community to collaborate with others in the country to allow Dr. Bawumia the opportunity to lead Ghana as President, citing his proven positive qualities.
He mentioned that many Ghanaians he has spoken to recognize Dr. Bawumia’s admirable traits, leading to his widespread support.
“Chiefs and pastors who are not Muslims are backing him,” he noted.
“They tell me, ‘This man is very humble.’”
“Indeed, he is extremely humble and tolerant. He can handle insults without reacting. His kindness is a quality that attracts people to him.
He is also dedicated and focused on achieving results, which those who work closely with him can attest to.”
