A Bawumia-led NPP government will ensure that mining communities benefit directly from the God-given mineral resources in their areas.

This will be realized through responsible mining practices that safeguard the environment while providing economic benefits for the communities.

The vice presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh who gave the assurance when he toured communities in the Akrofuom and Adansi Asokwa constituencies in the Ashanti Region said this vision aligns with the party’s broader strategy to regulate and promote environmentally sustainable small-scale mining across the country.

Cocoa
Touching on cocoa production and benefits to farmers, Dr Opoku Premoeh, a.k.a. Napo said the increase in producer price under the current government is far better than what farmers received during the Mahama era. “In 2016, the price of a bag of cocoa could purchase 13 bags of cement. Fast forward to 2024, and the price of a single bag of cocoa can now buy 34 bags of cement,” he said.

He was delighted that this comparison is what the residents of the constituencies are using to assess the real impact of NPP policies on their lives.

Tangible benefits
“I am happy that the people have seen the tangible benefits and will vote overwhelmingly for Dr Bawumia and the NPP in December to ensure further improvements in their livelihoods,” he said.
Napo also urged the people in the Akrofuom constituency to re-elect the NPP’s Alex Blankson to Parliament.

Adansi Asokwa
At Adansi Asokwa, Napo engaged the people and key stakeholders. He canvassed for support for Dr Bawumia, describing him as “a leader with bold vision and solutions to take Ghana to the next level.”

“The people of Adansi Asokwa, like all Ghanaians, deserve leadership that creates opportunities, sustains development, and secures a prosperous future,” he added.

Napo also encouraged the people to re-elect K.T. Hammond as MP to continue his dedicated service to the constituency.
