Construction of Otumfuo cancer centre begins

The sod has been cut sod for the construction of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Comprehensive Cancer Center of Excellence ( CCCoE) at Kwaso in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The project is being undertaken by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation in partnership with Breast Care International.

Phase one will cost $10 million.

The sod-cutting ceremony on Friday, October 11, 2024, was led by Otumfuo Hiahene, Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Woahene Il on behalf of His Majesty, the Asantehene, who is the Chief Patron of the CCCoE.

Facilities
When completed, the project will provide the much-needed dedicated facility for cancer care, prevention, awareness creation, diagnostics, screening, treatment, research, training, education, telemedicine, Al Hub, palliative care and rehabilitation including survivorship for all cancers.

Gratitude
The Hiahene expressed gratitude to the board and all other persons who are involved in the execution of the project.
