Ashanti Region is once again demonstrating that it will forever remain NPP. In the upcoming elections, the ruling party is hoping to make a huge impact by winning heavily in the region, which is the traditional stronghold of the party.
This is what the mass of the people in the region are saying as the party’s presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia continues his 15-day campaign tour of the region.
In the first two days of his tour, the presidential candidate addressed passionate and energetic packed crowds in six constituencies and expressed the hope that Ashanti Region, together with the 15 others , will make him the next President.
Strengthening base
The Ashanti Region tour is seen as a move to further strengthen the base for a resounding victory .
Dr Bawumia was in Atwima Mponua, Atwima Nwabiagya North and Atwima Nwabiagya South on Monday, while yesterday he campaigned in Offinso North, Offinso South and Atwima Kwabre North.
Crowds cheer
As the crowds cheered him on, he spoke passionately about his vision for the future, emphasizing bold solutions to issues needed to drive national progress.
He said, “As always, Ashanti Region has welcomed me and the NPP with open arms, and this tour is no different. The energy and enthusiasm on display in my engagements with the chiefs, religious leaders, the youth and other persons is ample evidence that my vision filled with new ideas and bold solutions has been widely received.
“I am confident that Ashanti Region will join the 15 other regions to elect a President whose oft-stated aim is to work assiduously to make life easier and better for every Ghanaian, with a track record to back it up,” Dr Bawumia stated.
