Popular Ghanaian TikToker and brand influencer, Augustus Adu Genfi, widely known as Time GH, has shared his views on clout chasing in the entertainment industry, naming two individuals he believes are the biggest clout chasers in Ghana’s music and social media spaces.

Speaking on the Frankly Speaking podcast during a discussion on the topic of clout chasing, Time GH singled out dancehall musician Shatta Wale and TikToker Martina Dwamena, popularly known as Asantewaa, as the most prominent figures when it comes to leveraging controversy and attention for personal gain.

When asked why he believes Shatta Wale fits this description, he responded humorously, saying, “For Shatta Wale, he literally depends on it. He seems to be backing his career of doing music with it.” This statement suggests that the dancehall artist strategically uses controversy to keep himself relevant in the music industry.

On the other hand, he described Asantewaa’s approach to clout chasing as relatively harmless, stating, “She does it in a clean way.” He further added in an amusing manner, “I heard when her issues were coming, she was making 10,000 every day on TikTok.”

Time GH elaborated on what clout chasing entails, defining it as the pursuit of traffic, attention, money, and fame. According to him, individuals engage in it for different reasons—whether to boost their careers, gain financial rewards, or simply remain in the public eye.
