The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has given importers of Grand Chateaux Sangria Forte a three-day deadline to complete the total recall of all their products from the Ghanaian market.

The FDA has also instructed all retailers and distributors to comply with the directive by returning all available stock of the product to the importer.

Speaking to Citi News, Dr. Akua Amartey, Deputy CEO in Charge of Operations at the FDA, stressed the importance of strict compliance from retailers and distributors.

She also urged the public to collaborate with FDA regional officers to ensure the product’s complete removal from store shelves.

“This is classified as a Class 1 Recall, which means we give the importers three days to complete the recall. So, retailers must take it back to wherever they got it from. If they got it from a distributor the distributor will ensure it gets to the importer who will also give us, FDA, the needed information,” she stated.
