Mahama Lauds Police for Impressive Crime-Fighting Efforts

President John Dramani Mahama has praised the Ghana Police Service and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for their decisive efforts in combating crime and ensuring public safety across the country.

Addressing the newly inaugurated Police Council at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the President highlighted recent successes, including the collaborative rescue of kidnapped Ghanaians from Nigeria, as a testament to the effectiveness of cross-border security cooperation.

“Let me commend the Police Management team for the successes you have chalked recently in the fight against armed robbery and also your collaboration with your Nigerian counterparts in apprehending the kidnappers in Nigeria and bringing the Ghanaian victims back home, you also deserve plaudits for the apprehension of the killers of some mobile money merchants in Kumasi Koforidua and Aflao, your arrest of the suspects in the Nsawam sandpit killing is also very much appreciated,” the President noted.

The President however urged the Police Management not to be complacent but continue to explore modern ways to deal with emerging trends of crime as they will have his personal support every step of the way.
