GenZ for Bawumia/Napo last Friday made a stop at University of Ghana, Legon campus to engage with first-time voters and the university community on the need to vote and retain the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in power.

According to the GenZs, Ghana stands a better chance if Bawumia and the NPP wins the 2024 elections because of the programmes and good policies outlined by the party to support the younger generation.

This initiative under their flagship programme, Campus Activation Project was part of the broader GenZ for Bawumia/Napo campaign designed to resonate with the aspirations of Ghana’s youth as the nation approaches the 2024 general elections.

The Campus Activation Project embodies a novel strategy to highlight the progressive and impactful policies championed by the Bawumia/Napo ticket.

By focusing on first-time voters within various tertiary institutions, the initiative seeks not only to inform but also to inspire young Ghanaians about the party’s comprehensive agenda tailored at their needs and aspirations.

In total, the initiative successfully reached over 2000 students, effectively sharing a message of optimism and the potential benefits of the NPP government’s policies for young people.

Mission
Their mission was clear: to engage students and advocate for the party’s manifesto, which includes ambitious commitments such as the creation of one million digital jobs for Ghanaians, the establishment of a Fintech Fund to nurture startups, and the formation of a dedicated SME Bank to bolster small and medium enterprises.

These initiatives are designed to empower the youth and stimulate economic growth, aligning with the aspirations of a generation eager for innovation and opportunity.

In collaboration with the executives of Legon TESCON and Regional TESCOM, the GenZ group worked diligently to disseminate information about the NPP’s initiatives and programmes specifically crafted for young people, particularly those pursuing higher education.

This partnership underscores the importance of grassroots engagement and the need to connect with students on a personal level.

Response
The responses from the student body were overwhelmingly positive, with enthusiastic chants of “Dr Bawumia No. 1” resonating through the campus as the GenZ for Bawumia/Napo team made their presence felt.

The team distributed a variety of promotional materials, including T-shirts, pens, key holders, and leaflets that outlined the party’s policies and vision for the future.

This hands-on approach not only foster a sense of unity but also reinforce the message of hope and progress that the NPP aims to convey.

The GenZ team actively encouraged students who had not yet joined the movement for Bawumia/Napo to get involved, highlighting the critical role that youth engagement plays in shaping the future.
