Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice-Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), took a significant step on Thursday by inaugurating a modern library dedicated to the memory of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
This initiative not only serves as a tribute to the former president but also reflects Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s deep respect for Mills, whom he described as a “good man” and a “great leader.”
Interestingly, he also expressed his belief that Atta Mills was aligned with the wrong political party during his lifetime, hinting at the complexities of political affiliations and their impact on leadership.
The library, located in Ekumfi Otuam—the hometown of President Mills—was entirely funded by Dr. Opoku Prempeh, affectionately known as Napo.
The project was overseen by Samuel Koku Anyidoho, the CEO of the Atta Mills Institute, which is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the late president.
During the inauguration ceremony, Napo took the opportunity to extol the virtues of Atta Mills, describing him as a wise leader and a true gift to the nation of Ghana.
