The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for increased security and monitoring before the elections on December 7.
They have received intelligence about possible plans to create violence, especially in the Ashanti Region.
During a police meeting with political party leaders about election readiness, NPP General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua stressed the importance of taking steps to ensure a peaceful voting process.
He urged strict oversight of motorbike use on Election Day, citing a violent event from the Assin North by-election as an example.
“No one is above the law, and we do not want violence in our elections on December 7. We expect the police to maintain peace during the voting,” he said.
“We have received information about potential disruptions in the Ashanti Region. In the past, motorbikes have been involved in creating disturbances near polling places. We need to know if their use will be limited on Election Day,” he added.
