Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan is urging Premier League giants Arsenal to offer midfielder Thomas Partey a new contract following an outstanding performance for the club this season.

Partey, who joined the Gunners in summer 2020 from Atletico Madrid, has just two months left on his current deal, but the North London club are yet to hand him a new contract.

Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Barcelona, while a potential return to Atletico Madrid is also being considered, as his future at Arsenal remains uncertain.

However, Gyan, who had a stint in England before retirement, has called on Arsenal to offer the Ghana international a new deal after a standout performance this season.

“At the moment, Partey is one of the best midfielders in the world, there is no doubt about that. He has impressive statistics at Arsenal this season. Compare the winning percentage of Arsenal anytime he starts. He is a huge figure when it comes to Arsenal, so I will say they should give him a contract,” Gyan said in an interview with Joy Sports.

Partey has been in terrific form for Arsenal this season, making 47 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners, but will miss the crucial semi-final first leg clash against PSG in the Champions League.
