King Paluta: ‘Awards Should Be Based on Merit, Not PR’ in Artiste of the Year Bid

King Paluta is making a strong case for himself as a contender for the 26th TGMA Artist of the Year award, standing firm against the heavy competition, which includes Stonebwoy, King Promise, Black Sherif, Kweku Smoke, Joe Mettle and Team Eternity.

Despite not running an extensive PR campaign, Paluta believes his body of work speaks for itself and gives him a genuine shot at winning.

His response came after media personality DJ Slim shared a tweet expressing disappointment at the prospect of anyone other than Stonebwoy or King Promise winning Artist of the Year. Slim criticized artists who show little interest in the Ghana Music Awards, saying, “I will be disappointed in Ghana Music Awards if they give the Artist of the Year award to anybody apart from Stonebwoy or King Promise.” He added, “You can’t show less interest in the scheme and expect to be awarded. This nonsense must stop.”

King Paluta disagreed with Slim’s view, calling his remarks “loose talk.” He questioned whether awards should be given based on public relations efforts instead of merit, stating, “So they should award based on PR and not metrics? If someone doesn’t campaign and he deserves it, they shouldn’t give it to him?” he questioned.

Fada ! This be loose talk !!
So they should award based on PR and not metrics?
If someone doesn’t campaign and he deserves it, they shouldn’t give it to him ??
