The Vice-Presidential Candidates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh also known as Napo, has challenged the people of Tafo Constituency in the Ashanti Region to vote massively for the party in the December 7 polls.

According to him, NPP’s hope is Ashantiman and therefore there is the need for the people of Tafo Pankrono and its environs to turn out in their numbers in voting day to ensure the party remains in power.

Addressing party faithful in the constituency on Monday November 25, 2024, Napo entreated party supporters and Ghanaians to vote against John Dramani Mahama, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer.

Napo revealed that Mahama has held every position in politics but when he was giving the chance to rule as president, he messed things up and therefore Ghanaians should show him the exit point come December 7.

“When Mahama was leaving power in 2016, the dollar rate was around GHC4.70 or so but could not add dialysis treatment to the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the minimum qualification for students was Basic Education Certificate Examination, which could not guarantee one job or take you anywhere, yet he goes around ranting,” he stated.

“Now that that the dollar is high, we have added dialysis treatment to the NHIS, implemented Free Senior High School Policy which has benefited over five million children, implemented degitalisation and many more.”

As part of the tour, Napo visited Assafuah 92.7 FM, the constituency’s maiden community radio station established by the Member of Parliament (MP) and commissioned the newly constructed Pankrono Police Station.

He said these milestones reflect the tangible progress being made in the constituency under his leadership.

During my interactions with market women, community stakeholders and attendees at a rally, I reaffirmed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s unwavering commitment to consolidating Ghana’s gains and advancing its development.

‘I reminded them that John Mahama, after failing during his presidency and being rejected twice, has nothing to offer our country and urged the good people of Old Tafo to vote decisively for Dr. Bawumia and Vincent Ekow Assafuah to secure continued progress and prosperity for all.

On his part, the MP for the area Mr. Vincent Ekow Assafuah, reminded voters about voter apathy which he said caused the party to lose the 2008 elections.

So in 2024, we don’t want you to repeat the same mistake. NPP’s hope is Ashantiman and Tafo Pankrono is also part so show your love on December 7,” Mr. Assafuah stated.
