EV Beauty Ghana has made a significant contribution to the Ghana Prison Service (GPS) by donating 1,000 disinfectants and various other essential supplies aimed at helping inmates combat viruses and flu.

This generous gesture reflects the company’s commitment to public health and safety, particularly in the context of the ongoing challenges posed by infectious diseases.

During a brief yet impactful donation ceremony held at the Prisons Headquarters on February 11, 2025, Ms. Vera Ohemaa Ama, the Curator of EV Beauty Ghana, articulated the motivation behind this initiative.

She emphasized that the donation serves as a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards the Ghanaian government and its citizens for their warm reception of the company into the local market.

This act of goodwill not only underscores the company’s corporate social responsibility but also highlights its dedication to improving the well-being of vulnerable populations, such as inmates.

Ms. Ama elaborated on the purpose of the initiative, stating that it aims to assist inmates in preventing skin diseases and maintaining a hygienic environment free from insects.

The disinfectant, which was developed during the Covid-19 pandemic, was specifically tailored for the African market and has proven effective against a range of viruses.

Its formulation is particularly noteworthy; it is colorless, odorless, and alcohol-free, making it a safe option for use around children and individuals with sensitive skin.

“What makes this product unique is that it contains no alcohol, chemicals, color, or taste, and it resembles pure water, making it safe for babies,” Ms. Ama explained.

This innovative approach to disinfectant design ensures that it can be used without the risk of adverse side effects, even among the most vulnerable populations.

Furthermore, Ms. Ama highlighted the product’s compatibility with human blood cells, which allows it to effectively eliminate viruses while remaining harmless to the body.

This characteristic is particularly important in settings like prisons, where maintaining health and hygiene is crucial for both inmates and staff.

The financial commitment behind this initiative is substantial, with EV Beauty Ghana investing approximately GHC 100,000.00 to support the donation.

Ms. Ama assured attendees that this is just the beginning of a long-term partnership with the Ghana Prison Service, as the company is dedicated to continuing its support and collaboration in the future.

In response to this generous donation, Deputy Director of Prisons, DDP Sophia Osei-Bonsu, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Ghana Prison Service.

She acknowledged the importance of such contributions and encouraged similar initiatives in other regions, emphasizing the positive impact they can have on the lives of inmates.

EV Beauty Ghana Company Limited is located at East Lagon Hills near Lakeside Estate and has outlined plans to expand to other parts of the country.
