His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, has extended warm birthday greetings to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, on his 76th birthday, praising his leadership as one that “continues to command respect across Africa.”

In a personal message to the Asantehene, the Nigerian traditional ruler recalled the recent visit he and his wife made to Kumasi, expressing deep appreciation for the gracious hospitality extended to them at Manhyia Palace. “Your reign continues to command respect across Africa for its wisdom, stability, and steadfast commitment to the preservation of heritage and the advancement of society,” Ogiame Atuwatse III wrote.

He added: “Through your leadership, the Asante Kingdom continues to stand as a distinguished institution of culture, dignity, and continuity.”

Prayers
The Olu of Warri offered prayers for the Asantehene’s continued strength, sound health, peace, and wisdom, expressing hope that the Asante Kingdom would “continue to flourish under your stewardship for generations to come.”

Bonds
The congratulatory message underscores the growing fraternal bonds between two of West Africa’s most prominent traditional thrones.

The Asantehene, who ascended the Golden Stool in 1999, is widely regarded as one of the continent’s most influential monarchs. “On the occasion of your birthday, I extend warm felicitations and sincere good wishes to you, your family, and the people of the Asante Kingdom,” the Olu of Warri added, sending assurances of his “highest regard and esteem.”

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, born on May 6, 1950, continues to be celebrated as the 16th Asantehene, presiding over the Asante people with a reign marked by notable educational and peace initiatives across Ghana.
